Chemical Engineers

Who ever said science is neat and tidy?  First graders jumped at the chance of being chemical engineers.  They were given a variety of ingredients.  They had to determine how much salt, water, and flour they would need to make successful playdough.  After dozens of trial and error attempts (and getting flour up to their eyeballs) the young engineers were victorious.  They made a "product" which paralleled the theme of our unit.  Our heart/penny/Valentine/President's Day/Abe Lincoln salt dough necklaces would make anyone happy!
