This is Why I Love Teaching

Every day is different.  My job is never boring.
Yes, we love math!

How can one not laugh when correcting a paper with a few more than 4 possible points?   He's certainly confident in his skills.  A+ for wishful/creative thinking!

We might need to work on spelling a bit, but the math is grrrrrrreat!

The humor here may not be apparent at first, and the answer is definitely not mathematical, but for #7 the answer is pretty darn funny!

Everyone should have this kind of sunshine in their lives.

Crow Boy and Sam McGee

Our annual poet and storyteller, Dave Rogotzke, visited us on a chilly morning to read two favorite stories.  He held us spellbound with tales of winter promises and heartwarming crow calls.

Mystery Science

Cloud in a Jar
For our weather studies, we used warm water in a jar and put a frozen pan on water on top.  Not much happened.  When we added smoke from a match, however, the water vapor had something to cling to and we made a cloud in a jar!  Science magic!

Four our next mystery,  R.A. brought a glass prism and we were able to use to to divide the sunlight into rainbow colors.  This tied in nicely with the class read-aloud James and the Giant Peach.  The frightening cloudmen were painting rainbow arches in the sky.

100 Day and 101 Day

Yup, It's Still Winter

Kids using watercolors - a beautiful combination.

It's time for these beauties to come down and liven things up with some Valentines.
